Dateline Chokio:

TOTD: SICK nothing serious just irritating and tiring, Seems no one thinks of the guy with the immune system on suck. I have had a pain it the ass literally for the last four day's with the restless bowel, a fart is only safe the first three times the fourth is YAHTZEE or a shart so extreme caution is in order. It all started with bringing another tribal member an innocent glass of 7up because you guessed it they were throwin' the stomach contents out like an upside down shark. I thought it couldn't happen to me I am not exposed..yup, less than 24 hours later I am hunched over the porcelain with an old butter container looking like the THINKER. I did a lot of thinking mostly oh god kill this parasite NOW. I have lost 10 lbs.and am thinking of binging an purging to a frightening weight loss. I have the cold that was lurking in my chest coming back to go with the sagebrush splatter. I will cross my fingers for a recovery soon.
A heart felt sadness has come to me over the last few day's of violence that shouldn't have happened, may the understanding of mental illness soon be taken out of the hands of witch doctors and sooth sayers.
May those who have lost the loves of their life find peace and comfort in their time of sorrow. Rest in peace young soles and allow those to morn with good memory's of your short time with them and carry on in life with great purpose to live.

Finman Sailors Seals

So the seal people are wild and crazy folks who came into the islands around england and scandinavia. They are also rumored to have traveled to north american lands. It's wild to think about the early peoples who ventured out of their comfort zones and set out to explore so many other area's. The kicker with the finman is they were known as seal people who could travel under water. The same people were also named as mermaids and sea monsters. I have been reading many many pages of the web on the Orkneyjar island were some of the story's may have originated. But there is evidence that the same Finman peoples may have been nord. People from the scandinavian area's mostly fin or suomi settled but left the area. There are many markers and mounds left in the north eastern shores as well as graffiti hacked into rock albeit by defiant explores looking at new lands hunting and gathering. There is evidence of many colony's all along the eastern seaboard as in an early community and township across the coast and what looked like a group who traveled by boat to the north american shores. In the west coast along the sleepy shores on a riverbank there was found a body, bones of a lost man older that any found in the area. Officially known as Kennewick Man he was NOT native american but a caucasian and early explorer. He was found buried in the riverbank by teens during a hydro plane race on the Columbia river a long and twisting river that comes down into the states from canada and empty's into the open Pacific ocean. This early man is a debate and fight that has lasted for years. Despite evidence the native american tribes claim him. I don't abide by that fact I believe he was an explorer who came across the ice hyway and down the river to look at all that lay before him. I am native at least 10 percent of me is, to what tribe I don't have a clue but the other is Suomi. I should side with the natives and claim the body as kin and ancient elder to the tribes but I do claim him as an elder to a tribe of Suomi that came to this country once before and now they have been found more spread out into other area's. Take it there are more complexities to the ancient world than many can accept or fear because they don't want to get left out on what they could benefit from. Cash talks when it comes to historical accuracy. I will sit and read, learn and absorb all that I can on the subject and let you know. Have a tuesday people an learn like your life depends on it, No one to my knowledge has died from knowing about too much just from letting others know they know haha

The effective means to disposing of Feces

The proposed effort is to make the feces liquid, By using fence post in a circular motion, repeat motion to to disperse chunk's, When satisfied add equal amount's of patrol as in Diesel fuel. Stand a safe distance from liquid and apply flame devise, a road flare will ignite liquid in an efficient means, Allow flames to burn all liquid and material to sludge then after careful scraping of sludge into a previously dug three foot deep circular hole dug with your ever present E tool you will deposit sludge from barrel once scraped free. When completing your task of burning the barrel full of feces you will return the barrel to the latrine area. You can now return to the safety of your CHU and think about the tragic fuck up you have just done and suffered from. End of lesson on Fuk up Sunday

A day in infamy!!

My mother was three day's old her parent's were bringing her home from Spokane. The plan was to get home before dark and go over to the Great's. The plan's didn't work out, seems there was a little bit of a blizzard blowing wildly across the roadway drift's were as high as a car. The young couple was traveling in a newer Model T auto with no heater but a warm set of hand made quilt's sent along and a sack lunch for the way back. There was a half gallon of milk for the baby and a few changes of clothes just in case. The wind was cold and the side curtains in the car didn't stop the howling across the open country with little to slow it down. The journey took what seemed forever, there were a few stops to clear the snow out of the radiator and scrape the ice off the wind screen. the wiper wasn't keeping up with the amount of snow fall. When Edna saw the lights of Pasco she had Gramp's stop and get some warm water for tea and to warm up the bottle for the last 20 miles home. The baby, Sandy, was all warm and toasty despite the cold and wind and eating well. As they crossed the green bridge into Kennewick there were few light on in town being a Sunday most businesses were closed and no one was stirring not even a mouse. The back road over the plain and into our small town of Richland, the homeward stretch. When they got into the Great Grandparents house all the family was there glued to the Radio listening to a speech given by Franklin in his chat to the nation that would impact the whole of our family and those of our neighbors. The Japanese had bombed Pearl Harbor and War was imminent. They sat that evening with a sip of brandy and gazing at the baby, the new addition to the family and wondered what will the world be like for this small child.
I remember the look and sound, the soft voice telling me about the day of December 7, 1941 when the Japanese bombed our country and the struggle just to get home with the newborn, But how happy those two parents were of the baby Sandra they now had.
Let us remember those brave men and women who on this day were lost and those who fought to save each other and defended our sovereign nation.

And another Damn card.

You need a TWIC card? I do what the hell for I am not working. Our records indicate you has passed your Captains exam and are able to work on shipping up to 100 tons. I took the class, I passed I applied and boom haven't done anything about it. Now they want me to register, So the government can keep track of me. Hahah nope I'm a PIRATE like Jack Sparrow without a ship and a ton of rum. AAARRRGGGGG!! I best be wearin' my tri corn hat and parrot. I wouldn't mind a part time job running the locks for Tidewater tug, My grandfather did that for many years and a lot of short trips threw the Panama canal, He was very proud of being a ships captain but the family life and hen pecking of Grandma was too much for him to handle. He was a smart man, worked for the CCC as a kid along with his brothers, in the pacific northwest forests. Growing up in a small town in the middle of nowhere with nothing but cattle and turkey's a father and family that were goal and monetary entrepreneurs. They hung out with the Hills and put in large water way's from the mountains to the river to water their cattle. And then POOF they faded away into the cities and towns of Washington and California. My Grandfather ended up in the city of Richland running a local car store he purchased from my Grandmothers dad, He became successful in a short time with a fas station and the cars. He was elected to be Mayor in 37'he was a young man not over 25 tall, thin and blond with blue eyes. The look of stern business. Berge was a quiet man, he was a hard worker and spent a lot of time selling his town to other markets in the state, the small town of White Bluff's and larger town of Richland has a lot to offer with farm produce and grain crop's there was also a lot of sheep and a few cow ranches out in the bottom land of West Richland where the pioneer family of the Weidles had settled. The whole community and family came to an end with the arrival of the Mafia known as the DuPont corporation. On another day we will tell you another story one that would and should have been a shooting offence.
Have a day that you can remember and eat cake.

Chicken, chicken, chicken every where.

I like chicken and I like fresh chicken, but I think it will be a while before I eat chicken 64 chickens in the freezerator, yup it's full, they need to rest and relax so they aren't stiff as cardboard. I have a lot of respect for coold water and a whiz bang chicken plucker you could sure speed up the butchering process by using a handy dandy Rube Goldberg device. If you keep a look out for plans and and parts for a whiz bang chicken plucker you should. I think the smoker will get fired up in a few day's and a nice cold smoke will be used to alder or peach or apple wood will be used to add some flavor to a few of the dozen birds there is no rush winter hasn't even really come yet and that would be a fun time activity with a reward at the end.
I just started a diet, so chicken is on the menu and home grown tomatoes, peppers and jalapeno's will help add to that. I will do a mile walking after a good stretch and a few toe touches to slowly get in the groove of a less sedentary lifestyle.  well there you go life in the day I must get on the horse and motivated.
Mile walk and a nice BBQ with burnt bacon but bacon is still nectar of the god's so it was great and a nice lean steak. Ate up and avoided a fire now for tea a little facebook and to bed, with hope of a sound nights slumber like last nights zombie coma I was able to experience.

I have decided that I will change my life, In a short time I will be thinner, stronger, healthier, younger looking and more attractive, I am ready to start.

WoW, I think this quote will give me a leg up on the day...Not really but I think it is a nice step up into a new thought process. A new way to get into a mindset of working out and starting to want to loose weight. I read a free eBook that was promoted in my reader from Amazon by one of the homesteader sites. I liked the book, I have read and used a few of the techniques today and will put a few into place every new day. It say's you can feel better and healthier in 7 day's we shall see. I will start half assed for the first week to get into a rhythm and again on MOnday, start off with an idea of what I want to do with a work out schedule and diet plan. Time will tell in the next two weeks if there is any progress. It works for a 52 year old and he looks buck as fuck so it is something that I am willing to try.
Good luck and good night.

Must have Run away?

I know I opened up a can of coconut milk yesterday and threw it on my Oatmeal, then put the rest in the fridge. It was a nice treat, alas it didn't last long what was left, it was discovered when the tribe returned and thrown out. It isn't normal and not recognized as a food or drink it isn't mac and cheese, potato chips, or popcorn it doesn't come out of a freezer of is  processed into a recognizable food. I wouldn't think I would have to hide things to eat but I do or they get thrown out. I do save jars I put meal, wheat, oats, and things in recycled jars that have been cleaned out and un-labeled. I think they are safer for storing than plastic bags. I have read that liter bottles with a tight lid are FEMA approved and I do have a few of the green tinted ones cleaned out for storing but haven't used them, Because I know they would fall by the way side and get thrown out, it's not mac and cheese or a bag of simulated meat product frozen into cubes of mystery meat. I also have 5 count them 5 milk cartons that have been washed out with bleach and are sitting in a safe place in case they are needed in an emergency, I would have water in them but then again they would be thrown out. There is no conceived idea that the water might be needed when there isn't any readily available water. I have learned the hard way from living in the country, and having the water shut off at one time or another.
I try every day to not be bitter, try is like saying I will be bitter. trying isn't succeeding it's the same as issues never get solved or resolves. Problems get solved but if it's an issue it will always be an unsolved issue. Ask the government they always have an issue and spend millions and billions of dollars trying to solve and insolvable issue.
I will look at myself in the mirror again and change the thought and attitude that I am thinking and be happy, oh hell who am I fooling if I take a nap I might be happier. good luck with the day, and try to be nice. Oh and be sure to sign up for the Pope on twitter follow him @pontifex that will tune you in to all the pope has on his mind and to the world it took him long enough the Delhi lama has been on the Twitter for a few years now they are both enlightened.

          La...La...lalalal...Ooolalala

Isn't that pretty, hmm...don't you think so? I do, it was on PBS celtic women and the sounds of christmas. It was a nice but very long special yesterday on our channel 9. I needed to feel the Christmas spirit that and the chick's were hot. They really did put together a good show and it was quite festive, I would recommend it with two thumbs up. I think today will be a chill day too. I think getting out of a pattern could be dangerous that's how you end up in a pin with alligators in it, one wrong turn. Heehe ha I have been working on getting a silly thumb drive re-booted and set up to actually work, I made the mistake of pulling it too early while it was downloading something to the drive, the only weird part would be I only had it plugged in and wasn't adding anything to my knowledge. I had some really cool PDF plan's that I had dug up on the net and would like to build once I get the garage set up with home improvement style tools.
Well fwaakk...I can't get the picture to set where I want to in this chicken sheep blog outline. I guess you get it where it sit's. Anyway I have the plan's almost sorted out and can read them it looks like they had been auto updated when I plugged them into a newer computer. I didn't approve the update but hey, computers seem to think they can do what ever they want. BASTARDS! Watching conspiracy theory with Ol' Jesse Ventura I think that they are all in cahoot's to take over the world, insert tin hat with foil here (-.-)
I have been toying with the idea of giving the dog's a bath they are starting to smell well...like shit. They are out in the pin playing in the dirt and mud like happy little piglet's and when they come in the smell lingers and the feel on the skin is like a mud pie encrusted elephant. They haven't been feeling so great and have had the run's I don't know why but wowzers they are emptying out on a regularly with the shit'z I thought of giving them some char coal based goodies that would help them out and settle some tummy's and hope that it isn't something more serious.
Time to shower up and grab a dog and scrub a dub pup, I need to look up a few of the tools for this remedial blog hookup and prepare for the influx of the tribe coming back home. peace love and joy Fa..la...la...la..la lalllllllla

Wind wind wind wind....

Hey, I am not too sure but if you haven't heard there's WIND and a bit of it hitting the hill side today and last night. Have you heard a banshee? well if you haven't the wind wippin' around outside would clue you in if you ever were to encounter one of the beast's. It blew most of the night a steady 20+MPH and has slowed a bit threw the morning. The tribe set out a little late good thing the time was set at 8 a.m. errr...that didn't happen it was more like quarter to nine, and a lot of searching and pecking to find things ALOT it encompassed at least five trip's into and out of the house to get things. I can see once but geeze the more times they came in the more they had forgotten. These poor folk are the poster children for you spend half your life looking for something. They say a month in a lifetime I think the genetics here would be a year.
I finally did it after 4 years of a full goatee I have taken the look of a dignified bald finn, I have spent the last 30 day's celebrating no shave Mo'vember and developed a healthy itch with the beard and broke out like a 12 year old with his first hard on. I couldn't take the itching any longer and went to shave...yup you guessed it I didn't just nick myself I left an irreparable gouge in my goatee. I have had long handlebar moustaches but chose to let it go and start fresh. I did leave my moustache and if it keeps growing maybe I can get a good curl on the ends by the time my goat grows back in. I hated to see it go but you can really see how ginormous my face has gotten with the pills I have taken and the weight that has been added to the face. I have more jowles than a PT barnum Haha. Off for lunch and to feed the bird I have my kite in hand should be a quick trip. Till another time head in the trough and carry on.

   Friday Bitches

Oh boy oh boy it's friday, start of the weekend. Does it matter nah, not really the week's over when it's over. I was always so tired after the weekend. Now it's just part of the week that end's on Sunday not really friday hahah.
Any day of the week is a great day or it's a day heading strait into the crapper. Flush twice and evaluate that's the way to get it done. It's all banana pudding and rough sex. One or two people hanging out in the driveway all tuned in with "a new camouflage limo is like a bug light to a redneck" or in this case changing spark plugs with a new tool to roll the motor up to get at the plugs. Just like a retarded nascar team all six were out and on the fender in a whopping one hour and forty five minutes. It made a bit of difference with the thirteen dollar genuine mail order tool. How high tech is that.
I got about as much sleep as a moth stuck to a bug light last night, I have my fingers crossed and my balls and folded my pecker to hope to sleep saturday night like a baby with no one in the house. All the pilgrims are on the road to a big ol' christmas party with santa and reindeers and present's and good shit. I will be so happy if my clock can get caught up. I watched the news last night over and over because someone who shall be named nameless kept rolling up on the remote and turning the TV off and then poof..back on at least four times. Then bang the family of teens came in and the gov. worker got up and then the reveille alarm went off and then the TV came on again to you guessed it the NEWs Fwaaak....
I will live another day, watch some more duck commander and go with the wind for a cup of coffee and a piece of bread with honey and cream cheese. Have some wine, good eats and a great nite

          The Old Farmers Almanac

There is a wealth of information in the Old Farmers Almanac, everything from weather to planting and in recent years advertising and recipes. They have a nice little sales area and will now send you a email with a few things they have to offer. One of which is a nice moon phase app for your phone. it would be handy to look at for fishing times, hunting and hay harvesting. But this picture of a memory game caught my eye. A series of pictures meant to help with remembering things and order of things. I have a book about increasing your thought and memory. It uses a series of small things to help increase your memory. I think this actual hands on picture with the ability to be touchy feely and see what you are remembering can in my opinion be very helpful for anyone. It would be great for some who suffer from memory loss from stroke or the early onset of Alzheimer. One of my few fears is loosing my memory and the ability to control my body. I have has this happen on more than one occasion. I would definitely get this if I had the chance. It would help a lot for just killing time if nothing else. The Old Farmers Almanac has been a staple in many an era from the layman to farmer. It does have quite the interesting history and the little tidbit's that it contains are interesting to read I have always been fascinated with the little yellow booklet, the first one bought for me by my mom, she would never deny buying me a book even if we were short on money and the Almanac wasn't too expensive when I was young but it did cost and for a young single mom I didn't appreciate what she had to do to earn a living in those day's and what she had to put up with. Things that wouldn't be tolerated today, but was the norm in the 70's, it wasn't until later years and the death of my mom did I get what she had sacrificed for me and the life she had made for me. She gave me more than I ever was able to re pay. Love you mom and Thanks
Cold rainy night with clouds and frost I think being able to hit the hay early tonight is in order if nothing else to try and catch up on my own internal clock of sleep count down.
The bird is eating like a horse everything I feed her and looking for more it must be getting closer to cold times and winter.
Have a great day live like you have left the yard unattended.

Well...Hell

It's just another day, cold and overcast with a few drops of fluffy snow. Most of the area had big cold rain drops with a touch of mm...nothing special.
I have had a nice late nap and thought to myself damn it's another wasted day spent thinking but not doing, Doesn't mean it was a bad day just another one.
I sit and listen to what a few people say and think damn how can you believe what you do. Think what you think and live as ignorant as well you do?? Common sense isn't common in some people because I feel they weren't allowed to find it. Something being out in the world has taught me is common sense. the ability to rationalize what is good and bad, how to construct and dismantle, and what has been taught from others who have been there done that. I learned that if you don't know something you can bullshit it only so far before others figure out it'z bullshit. Why let it get to that point before you admit defeat. Ask for help or look up the information you need to make it right, to get the fact's or ask for directions. Without the help, fact's or directions you are lost, admit it and move on.
I won a nice knife from SOG at least I think I did, on their facebook page contest they run when they have a new knife released for sale. I was notified sent to their home page and sent them my information. Fingers crossed. I have bought SOG knives for longer than most having lived in the area SOG was first manufactured in a fella's basement. He would show up at the local gun shows in Puyallup and Everett hocking his latest creations. At the time they were well constructed and has a purpose, I ended up buying a few different knives from SOG and the last one from Sportsmans warehouse cost over a hundred bucks and has lasted everyday without a sharpening for the past three years, I did break the spring hook off a few times but the spiffy sales guy ordered me new ones and they arrived a day's later and boom, installed and still going strong, it is part of carrying a knife every day there is bound to be wear and tear.
I think the stress of just hearing certain voices is wearing on my nerves I just need to not let it bother me and harden the fuck up. I don't sleep well if at all more than a few hours and usually woken up I could be suffering from some post traumatic stress from my childhood or from traveling through an airport in a war zone. Maybe but that's a question for Sherlock Holmes or Dr. Watson Now for a nice bowl of warm apple sauce with butter on top and a cupa'
Another day to say hey, hay ha' have a nice night.

Black Room and NO sound

I need a room with no sound and no light with a nice breeze of fresh air. I need sleep not a few hours of broken sleep but gee he looks dead sleep. I don't know where people are taught courtesy, I don't think people in my AO have any concept of the word. They KLACK around the house on the hardwoods like a mexican show horse. It would be quieter with a hand full of roosters right out side the window crowing to John Philip Sousa's rag time band...I bet those big ass NBA basketball players in cowboy boots, slamming their balls on the floor wouldn't make as much noise. FWAAK..I am tired.
What a beautiful day cloudy and overcast, chilly with fog and dew nipples are everywhere damn right it's almost the end of Movember. I have set a timer so as not to sit at the computer ALL day looking up meaningless crap that will fill my mind. Yeah, I know it won't last long but I have been standing for 10 minutes of every hour to get the blood circulating and put a good stretch on the arms and shoulders, and cruisin' around the property to get some exercise. The dog and turkey water were a little frozen, just a top layer but it was nice to feel the crisp air, the turkey appreciates a visit from the food god so she doesn't feel like she is wasting away. she has done very well putting on some winter fat so it must indicate a late winter, winter used to come around December but now it arrives end of January and stay's till march some times. Oh, there are times of sunny summer style bliss where a t shirt and shorts are no big deal but then turn around the next morning and need a parka and ski boot's. I look forward to snow this year, mostly so that certain married teen's won't come down to visit, that isn't going to last long with the drop out and the bailing on life she is doing. The silver nipple will be inserted and she and her husband will be saved. Pfff...NO tool's loaned and guess what they don't use tools anyway, they are just poo throwers. The chimp that passed away at Central Washington University was much more intelligent than these two, and did more to convey human characteristics and thought through human interaction than any other chimp, and it signed like it owned the language. Some humans should learn from those who are less fortunate, less articulate and in many cases happier.
Coffee, tea, cookies and me have a day to be you folks.

Children do you get it?

NO Tools Loaned, you should already have them. you were given them when you were growing up or were you absent on every damn day they were being issued? HuH! well, what?
That's right you were given tools to keep, to use and help you survive life when you got out into the real world, not the world of lolly pop's and unicorns your parent's have been providing for the past 18 years. But geeze you don't seem to be able to use them. I see you struggling to comprehend the basic's and it is sad. In a crisis situation your going to be eaten. As a young adult you should be able to understand that if you payed a bunch of money to go to a trade school, knew your credit's would NOT be usable anywhere else you chose to go to school. And then chose to quit before you complete a simple two year program well, hell your tools are not sharp your lucky you have a fork with two tine's. I thought you knew better than that. If you get a GED and don't finish school because you have emotional hang up's from your mommy n daddy and think it's ok because you don't like school anyway. Well screw that you know you can't get by on your good luck and looks your going to get or be knocked up and bitching about how your welfare check is late, and you want to go out ho-in with your friends and fine yo' self a man.
I would like to see kids less co dependent on parents and boyfriends/girlfriends and having to be in a relationship and not independent free thinking people. Kids think life revolves around them and they are the priority, they are but not in the respect to others no one person should have the world revolve around them in a family, life is about compromise, love and co operation, to me that's is family. I know many boy's who have had a girlfriend and have that girlfriend act like a wife, all through school they are inseparable the family accept's them and takes them on trips, vacations, dinner's, then on the one faitful day, usually near the end of the Senior year of high school the bomb is dropped and the boy happy to have his woman and get laid regularly is left at the curb shaking his head and wondering what he did wrong. He gives up his invitations to collage sports programs the stepping stone to an education. And now at the age of almost 25-30 he is looking for love in all the wrong places because he is lonely and doesn't have direction, he finds solace in his buddy's who have girlfriends and he is still the third wheel and doesn't fit in. Or he drinks a LOT not a little not to relax but to be drunk to forget. These are broad generalizations but they do involve actual people, people I know and have watch live their live...L I V I N' Many were given the tools and along the way they lost them. I don't loan tools anymore I don't really answer questions when asked "what should I do", My opinion doesn't matter, it all boils down to what you decide, what you feel is right. you had the tools, find them and use them, feel good about yourself and live with your decision with no regret even if it will cause you great pain and hardship in the long run, you decided it you own it. Have a great Monday and remember the week is almost over only 6 day's left.

I Had fun once.....

I have fun in my own mind every day do I get to share it...NO not really I just live in my own little world most of the time things that are very funny to me don't interpret to others. I would love to be able to project funny to other people, I seem to fail. Oh well you can't have every thing but you always have a shot at a lot. I am working of figuring out how to write this blog, what I want to convey to others..hmm. I would like to let folks know about me a little not a lot, see what I have a slight passion for, and see what pisses me off. I don't like the word folks anymore obumma ruined it for me how he cares for folks, he doesn't and yup you guessed it I don't like him or his politic's, bottom line he doesn't have any. I am a self described victim of the system he has created, I went in for a pacemaker, hadn't had one for years they are spendy. I have never had insurance and couldn't work but didn't qualify for any medical that was touted with horns and revelry by obumma for the masses, well this mass didn't get shit. NO I don't like him. There should be a system of healthcare in America that work, this obamacare/romneycare will not, I am a living example of that.  So anyway like a leaf in the wind it's time for Seahawks football and more coffee on a sunday morning. The Americans lost last night but i have fingers crossed that their season will turn around and maybe get another banner for the TC coliseum.

Cougars WIN!!

Duck's win!!

Ok so the Ducks of Oregon state University won! and so did the Washington state Cougar's in the battle of the portlandia territory's wild and woolley frontier of college sport's. I almost made it through all of both games, good thing they were a day a part. They played with half a heart not the full grit and gristle I would want out of my players. I would really like to see the iron men of the past play a few more games against the new player and see how they match up. As they were taking a knee on the sidelines and having a beer, sausage and a quick smoke in between down's how funny that would be, and still kicking ass. You can work out and be a specimen of idolatry but if you aren't willing to slam someone into the ground and break yourself in doing so you are lacking a key element in the sport. How many young kids played hurt when the only thing they had going was to play the sport they loved.
I would post some hot dog picture of a hard ass football team or a photo of the winning teams logo, I thought screw it I have nothing better to do but not a lot of space left on the old hard drive for stuff to add. I made the mistake of being an eBook hoarder one free book at a time and am frantically reading what I have downloaded that was an easy info gathering read. I could spend a lot of time reading, I am scouring Craiglist for a kindle to read on, I did download the PC app and it is a great thing to have but those little bitz and bitez I keep finding are eating memory alive. I am a junkie anywho when it comes to free and what spectacular thing I can Rube Goldberg together. All the plans and blogs and ideas that pop into my head when I see something I think I could use. I don't store a bunch of crap but there are a few things waiting for the day when I get onto my little Hundred Acre woods or in reality about 19 acres down by the river and I don't think I will find a Winnie the pooh there but maybe a Robin.
Last on the agenda is no shave Movember and bringing awareness to men about the importance of men's health. I for one am itching like crazy but I do post my mug shot every few day's to let my facebook friends know I am still in it and want them to take care of themselves and be there for their family's.
Take care, be well and have a shot on me.

Apple cup who's your daddy?

If you buy boxed wine and oranges and think fondly of the Washington State vs. University of Washington state rival collage football game. The chilly fall air filled with rabble rouzer's cheering on their team. We would sneak in oranges filled with vodka or cheap white wine to the game in our pocket's, being young and foolish. They were the best treat and would get you laid in the end if you played your card right oh and the team jersey you were wearing WON! The game starts soon so after a nice cup of strong coffee and a nice stuffing sandwich we should be good to go. I like football if the players PLAY and not run around the field thinking about an NFL career or how talented they are, But play the game with heart and meaning. Hockey is my sport I like the physical play and speed. I know those kids playing worked for what they are doing they don't get a lot of money in the collage ranks or junior hockey team's nothing like football players get. A good football program has kids who like to play and would like an education when their career in collage football is over. In today's society that is a rarity I won't even go into a rant about WTH is really wrong with basketball.
I miss my friends and compatriots who would sit and watch TV with me anything from sport's to a movie. I have alienated all of those people from my life. Once you decide to burn a bridge make sure napalm is used so you don't go back it's just for the best. Though with the state football rivalries you can't not shout out to the Civil War down in Oregon where the Beavers will take on the Duck's that should be a great game too. But who's counting good VS badd.....
Enjoy your black Friday by NOT spending like I have and feel the inner peace of knowing that Thanksgiving was just that being thankful for what you have and NOT for what you are about to buy selling out to the man by buying his cheap product's stimulate the economy all year one item at a time not with reckless abandon on Black friday.

This is Sparta or Thanksgiving!!

~ Through hardship came strength, and as a result of pain I found joy. Through suffering came gratitude, and by letting go I found my path and purpose.~

The Turkey day is here, right here but we are having ham and NO pies I knew I should have baked up the pumpkin's that we got for 25 bucks a pickup load. I was too lazy and pumpkin pie doesn't seem so popular maybe next week when the masses are gone.
When I was a kid we would be loading up into the car a 1963 ford falcon with pies and goodies to take to the great's house on the river. It was a big adventure by looking at Google maps it say's 11 whole miles in those day's it was more like 18 miles there wasn't a strait shot down the highway like it is now with a modern divided highway. We would all arrive with mom, grandma and me to be greeted by the cousin's and their children most of which were younger than I was. The feasting would start with breakfast of ham, bacon, oysters, pancakes, biscuit's and sausage gravy and an abundance of egg's and toast. We would lolly gag through the table's of treats and about the time you made it through your plate the vegetable/ cracker/cheese platters would show up on the table with a few gallons of orange juice, soda and four or five bottles of booze it was after all approaching noon. The kids would all sit on great grandpa's lap one by one and say our what for's and he would laugh and giggle while pulling  a half dollar out of your ear. All grandpa's should be able to pull money out of your head it should be a requirement. We would play on the floor while the adults would chit chat about uncle Audie's ranch an the new cow's due in a few weeks, crops and the forest areas he would haul his cattle up to. The business of building in the Tri Cities and what new projects would be built in the next year or what was being finished up. The cousins would brag about how well their older children were doing in school and sports and us younger children would ask to go out to the pond and just look. My great would herd us littler kids out to the pond and show us the iced over water where in the spring the fingerling trout would be placed to be released to the Yakima river. We would look over the pheasant boxes where the eggs would hatch out in the spring to be released. We really didn't see anything wild but our imagination would be filled with what was to come. We would gaze at the cow's in the small pasture by the road and then go back into the house to a cup of warm cider and wait for what seemed forever till dinner was served. We would all be called to the table and set in our place while we watched great grandpa' carve the turkey and hold our plate up to get a few slices of what would be the best turkey, stuffing and cranberries, eating like it was the first food we had all day. After the main course we would get a piece of homeade pie I would have mince meat made with the canned moose that the adult's had gotten on their annual trip to British Columbia. The adult's would pour a large dram of Canadian mist whiskey and sit in the front room with the fireplace going and all would rejoice about what a great day it was to have family and friends around. The family had come a long way to where it was, leaders of the community and industry in the area. I look back on the past with fond memory's how the family would come together and triumph the obstacles that had been placed before them. The large family gatherings ended in 1974 with the passing of Great Grandpa' Murray he was a pioneer who came out west with his family. I will admire him and what he had given us all. The family's would each have their own Thanksgiving in their own homes and each would invite the other but no one would really get together like in the past. Now the cousin's have their own family's and extended family's they have gone on to have their own traditions but I hope they can still remember the past and the good times we all shared in those early years.
I hope this finds your family together if nothing else but in spirit. And a large heart felt thanks to my daughter I love her and miss her but am so thankful to have her in my heart and to have the early memories of her at Thanksgiving.

Thanksgiving of 2012

How or what are you thankful for?

I look at the picture to the left and am draw'n to how those in line are dressed, Some are well dressed and some are not. But in the 20's it took many a victim with the Stock market crash and the Dust bowl. I have been watching the PBS special about the Dust bowl and what those farmers who were looking for a future for their children and generations to come. I watched their whole world be tossed back and forth by the weather, Dust would move more farms about like it was a modular home with little chance to recover. The children and elderly would suffer from Dust pneumonia and have no real hope for full recovery, Out here in eastern Washington I grew up with dust storms that would leave a good inch of dust at the bottom of the sill on the window's but nothing like what those people suffered in Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado and Nevada. I Learned a lot from the two part mini series and appreciated what those who stuck it out went through.I am thankful for the work many put forth to change the farming practices to help prevent such soil erosion and blowing dust. I am thankful for the perseverance of our early pioneers those who were here in the Americas living off of the land, hunting, fishing, and raising crops some of which are tasty as you can get, Sink your teeth into a nice heritage purple tomato and your lips will find the drool with the quickness when you glimpse one again. The Pilgrims who showed up and were indentured servants but stuck it out and survived with help from those native, They did impact us as a people and were afraid of Native Americans but in this day and age of 2012 we are afraid once again it has come full cycle we do very little for the Native people. I would wish that the first american's would join together to help one another but they will not like many humans the tribes are out for what they can get, I am not begrudging them but would like to see more unity. I am thankful that there will be turkey on the table and cranberry's to eat. I will call the ex and wish her well, Hope that my daughter is well and will have a good Thanksgiving. And I will cringe and posture because I am not cooking or preparing. I will look at a generic meal with sudo plates and dishes. But that is tomorrow not today.

Dia De los Muertos

The day of the dead, where we celebrate the passing of those who came before us. I find that we remember those important in our lives at random times, not just on one day. It is a nice fiesta for many and a great way to salute our loved ones. I can hear the chorus of mariachi's singing in the background with trumpets and flair calling the spirit's of the dead.I haven't looked it seem's to be a pagan celebration but christian in nature I can see the bishop now prancing through the town of short immigrant poor following behind. I wonder if muslims have a holiday for the dead who chose to blow themselves up with the reward of virgin's? There has been a lot of torment from Sandy not where I am at but in other parts of the country Oh well storms come and go and the repair has begun with some loss of life it could have been worse, The Samhain/ halloween night or day of dressing up and knocking on the neighbors door has come and gone, the neighbor who you have never met but see only once a year up close and personal if you have kid's or see as you pass by to work. The time when you knew all your neighbors and where they worked, where they shopped and met when you went to church or lodge is over. You might know a few and socialize with them and that is the way it should be, closing yourself in the house or to your yard doesn't create a community it creates unsocial fear. You wonder about such and such and speculate what they do or who they are. In light of the last few day's it would be a good time to go to your neighbors and get to know them, Help a senior who lives down the way while she is raking the leaves or drag out her trash can. They would be so thankful for the extra help, When you make cookies take a plate to the widower who lives two doors down or the sexy neighbor guy. With this being Movember the beginning of Thankful Thanksgiving month. I am thankful for all the wonderful neighbors I have had they far outweigh the assholes. Lady's you can bring me cookies anytime.
Always be nice and have a great night.

The Brashness of the season

With the gnawing and slashing of teeth, I watched the news as the wind and rain blew threw the Northeast with Sandy. I feel for those folks who many don't have a clue getting out into the outdoors is a park or maybe a ski slope that really isn't more than a hill out here in the west. I know many won't be prepared for the light's being out for more than a day, the fridge not keeping the lotka's cool or a nice cold beer. That more than likely didn't fill the tub with water to flush or keep a few containers of frozen water in the freezer to keep the food cold a few d days without power. I am sure there will be lessons to learned in the big city's with the clean up from the destructive path. Pregnancy will go up, booze sales will be at a high and arrest rates will be above average.
In time of crisis there will always be the have and the have not's and guess what, with the New World order of Occupy Wall Street cult the have not's will take from the haves not thinking of others but selfish preservation. With that mindset many will suffer undue hardship, In a great country such as the United States we still haven't learned to stick together. With the Jihad of the Occupy movement we hope that one day they will learn life is about more than just greed and want of other's but I doubt they will ever see past the text on their Iphone of laptop,
In the peak of the storm there was a casualty, a loss, to those who have seen Mutiny on the Bounty you have gazed  upon a marvel of the past a tall ship the HMS Bounty, The Bounty and her Captain were lost at sea along with an able body seaman who was later recoverd but succumed to his time in the sea. The brave men who put their lives in danger and the lives of their family who know their sacrifice to service is what put's them in harms way. The Coast Guard rescued 14 crewmen with the only sole missing from the sea vessel HMS Bounty is the Captain the man who went down with his ship.

Kicking and Screaming out of the Weekend

This is the second blog post. I think it worked out for the first one not knowing a thing about posting a blog. I have been reading adamantly the blog's I find posted by Facebook pages and have found them to be very informative. I have noticed that by reading so many DIY type blog's it makes you want to do stuff...make stuff and eat way too much stuff. These are just things that need to be dealt with the increasing pile of craft's, firestarters, wood and food occupying space in the home. I don't live on my own as of yet I have been couch surfing on a stagnant ocean, It has been a huge change from the way life used to be. I was an overtly adventurous person with little regard for myself and what I did, Oh yeah, I would think about things before doing them but then go right ahead and do it, damn the torpedo's
I have spent the last few years recovering mind and body from a few tough bout's thrown at me in the ring of life. Thing's I should take full credit for creating and some I had absolutely no control over. I miss my LIFE and pleasures I had before the day I moved IN with friends. It isn't the folks although they live completely hand to mouth and drive threw to body. I have a lot to be thankful for by being able to recover in a place where I am checked on don't have to worry about being found in a catastrophic situation without a way to save myself. I enjoy kooking. making kookie recipes that I have no idea how they will taste or really come out short of being on fire or suitable for paving the sidewalk. The couple I stay with is not adventurous at all, Steak and potato's with corn......wild huh? Not the fruity trout with wild rice and cattail root and nettle salad style. It ok to be safe food wise you know what your getting and know you won't be in the john, doubled over with the sound of a salad shooter hitting the bowl. I prefer to make a few things that would make an alligator blink sometimes. I made bread a while a go, a recipe I found on youtube, it tastes great and I use some yeast that was a few years old, flour and salt that had not been used up and was going to waste, it tasted homemade without anything special. When I did get fresh ingredients Damn that bread rock's. I don't work, I sit in the big blue chair, come Monday morning and I read colorful expletives about how pitiful the ending of the weekend was, how short it was and how there is still so much to get done. I know it is tough, but some of the family's and folks I read about I think to myself what the hell, they run so much, taking kid's to every event they chose to go to and catering to going out to a club or to dinner with friends, play sport's feed the family, shop and wonder how can they not hate to go back to work they are exhausted. I liked Monday it game me a rest from the running, I would go to hockey game's all weekend, go to a few bars and travel back home. The same was true with softball games, go to the game, BBQ for the team or go out to dinner, take the kid's to a fun park or swimming and back to the games finally to drive back home with the kid's passed out and me trying to stay awake to not kill everyone in the rig. I would think how quiet it was when I got to work on Monday and how pleasant it was to concentrate on nothing but the task at hand and getting the work done, as with the satisfaction of creating something that others would enjoy. This week is the time where I will concentrate on getting a few things made ahead for lunch and dinner, something to stay quiet and not disturb the folk's in the house other than the sound of the timer going off with food being done. The other thing is to get out to the local range and shoot the .17 and tune it up for getting a few grouse for dinner on the way to the cabin. Remember all that running around is not and doing thing's cannot be gotten back, take time to sit with your family and talk one on one with no running or electronics to interfere those are the times I look back on fondly and know that I will never get those times back but I have them all the same. Embrace the week and celebrate Monday

The Rainy day's that lead into November

Turkey

When sitting in the Blue Chair on a rainy afternoon in the last day's of October you get melancholy, Thinking of what if and should haves, you know the time you are spending watching the drip...drip...drip of the wayward drops of rain on the window are not going to last forever. It is just one extra pleasure you are looking for in your lifetime to make it perfect, to add to the full life you already are living.  There was a nice crisp breeze in the air as I went out to feed the turkey this afternoon. The slight drizzle on the turkey's beak as she dug into the potato peals and small gord, young Joel brought in last night for her to enjoy and add to the dwindling fat on her old bones, shaking off the water coating her feathers. She is ancient for a bird nearing the end of her years. We got her during the Easter feed store animal rush. As a potential meal for Thanksgiving and impending holliday's 3 more of her feathered kind were put in a to go box, small noisy bundles of feathery fluff and long leg's. Here we are six years later at a new location and she is the only one left standing. The others met with the normal attrition of 3 dollar yardbirds. One not making the first night in the box my daughter and I had set up with a nice lamp to keep them warm, with food and drink in an antique tin waterer and glass feeder used with mason jars my great great had used in the raising of game birds and chickens around the homestead in the late 1800's. It brings back those random though's as I look at the resilient bird, Her sister Tweety made it through a savage attack by our Miss peaches, Peaches was only doing what was natural in her instincts but Tweety didn't look at it that way she was quite offended and scared, I came out on the way to work and called the dog into the house, I had known something was amiss when the dog came up to me skulking. So I put her in the house, closed the door  and went out to the birds who were in the middle of the yard as I approached, one bird sauntered to me looking for chow the other was laying still in the yard staring outward. I looked at the bird and picked up the 10 lb. bird she was a bloody mess. Being late to work I set her in the shade and knew I would have to dispatch her, I was running late so I threw out the chow and headed to work,I had a meeting and didn't want to let her suffer long but didn't want to have her drug off and chewed up. I returned a few hours later around lunch and found her in the pen with a blanket covering her and a warm light over the top of her. I noticed a large brown sack on the step and a note " Saw your turkey hurt patched her up and sent antibiotic's good luck" the neighbor had set that bird up really well. I went out and gave her a big shot of Penicillin and a syringe of water down the ol' gullett well she made it the night and the next day changing out the wound dressing with the biggest Kotex I had ever seen. That bird made it three years after healing up, laid a few eggs and ended up with a good life. When I would leave for a few days I would ask my buddy Jimmy to watch the birds and feed them. They were so tame they would eat out of your hand if you were ready for it and not shy, Jimmy he was a bit shy the first time he came in to feed he was attacked by the South Park gang, Both turkey's all ready for chow, bum rushed him into the corner. He would joke about it later and Id the gang as the same birds as on south park and just as animated. As I hear the clucking and putting of the turkey I think of many resilient animal's and people who have come into my life and the things they have given me. Not thing's,gold or possessions that you look at but the internal gravy that makes you warm inside on a cool crisp rainy day. Have a great day, live long and sip coco :{)
